The Cité Universitaire in Antony is the largest university campus in France. It is located in a large, wooded park, opposite the Parc de Sceaux. Designed by E. Beaudoin and J. Prouvé, the campus is of high quality, with slender concrete frames, prefabricated polished concrete spandrels, large windows and, in some cases, wide concrete bands on the upper floors. The furniture was designed by C. Perriand and J. Prouvé.
We have carried out a rehabilitation campaign that respects the qualities of the building, as if it were a historic monument. In addition to renovating all the façades, we completely transformed the university restaurant and kitchens and created a university theatre in place of the cinema.
The work consisted, on the one hand of renovating all the pavilions to bring them up to safety and comfort standards: renovation of utilities, installation of mechanical ventilation, thermal and acoustic insulation, replacement of joinery, rendering, balconies, waterproofing, etc.
Study rooms were created. A restructured amphitheatre (350 seats) was built for stage performances, dressing rooms and projection booths. The community centre was restructured to include a reception hall, a restaurant with a large kitchen (900 covers per day), a cafeteria, a dining room for management (20 covers), gymnasiums and a library.
