There are two types of building. One addresses the scale of the Maurice Thorez housing development, the commercial buildings, the Urban Housing, the Charles de Gaulle housing development and the esplanade. The other, with smaller-scale buildings, is located to the east of the site, and is aimed at the suburban housing opposite on Rue Voltaire. It also reflects the smaller scale of future developments on the other side of the public gardens.

We are giving a more urban character to the north facades, which face onto the street, and the facades of the flats on the upper floors have no outdoor surface area. These less open north facades are designed to minimise energy loss.
The façade overlooking the A3 to the south, as well as some of the east and west façades, have been given a more landscaped treatment, with balconies and terraces opening widely onto the homes. More exposed, they optimise passive heat gain in winter. Balconies, terraces and sunscrrens complete the system for maximum comfort in summer.
